As the UK trade association for the industry, British Glass represents more than 70 organisations. We communicate the glass sector’s value and interests nationally and internationally as well as fostering the innovation and collaboration to secure a sustainable future for glass.

The UK glass manufacturing industry, which employs over 6,500 directly and another 115,000 in the supply chain, contributes around £1.3bn to the UK economy annually.

British Glass actively works with the UK glass industry towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions by embracing renewable energy sources, adopting circular economy principles, and investigating technologies to ensure glass production continues to improve in efficiency. Through collaborative efforts and innovative practices, the industry aims to significantly reduce its environmental impact and contribute to the UK's commitment to net zero by 2050.
